Coyote Trail:
1.5 km of scenic trail with rivers of petrified lava, diverse formations, and forest leading to the picturesque Masaya Lagoon.
Visitors Center:
An informative center containing exhibits about the volcanos' history. Flora and fauna, geology. other protected areas in Nicaragua, restroom facilities and an informatio booth and a picnic area, also located here.
El Comalito:
A small volcanic cone with a number of fumaroles at its base which emit clouds of vapor. The guided tour provides interesting information on the ecology of the presents forest, as well as identification of some of the native species.
Trail of Las Pencas:
An interesting view of the lava flows originated by the eruption of the Nindiri Volcano.
Bola de Piedra
A huge rock left by an acient lava flow from the San Fernando Crater.
Plaza de Oviedo
Named after the first foreigner to discover and explore the volcano , the plaza provides a excellent view of the three craters of the Nindiri Volcano as one stands on the very edge of the active Santiago Crater and Bobadilla Cross.
Bobadilla Cross
From Plaza de Oviedo , observe the Bobadilla Cross (in honor of the Pather Francisco Bobadilla) that planted the cross in the border crater in order to exorcise the devil, because he belief, it was the entrance of hell.
San Fernando Crater
A beautiful view of a forest formed inside a crater that has been inactive for 200 years.
The Tznaconostoc Bat´s Cave:
Formed when lava under great pressure was forced out from the Santiago Crater. Here you will find an underground world of bats and interesting lava formations.
